The Best Wingman?

Okay, so its clear to say that Steve Rogers has not had the best luck with women. Peggy is dead, Natasha is "just a friend" and the chances of him staying with Sharon are pretty slim.
That being said, you'd assume that the other Avengers would take him out and try and set him up. I made a list of how these avengers would act and who would have the most success:

Iron Man - Presuming this is before the whole Civil war thing, Tony has money, status, good looks and knows a lot of models. Biggest problem with this is that one of two things would happen with every girl they met: A) Tony decides to take them home instead. B) Tony has previously taken them home and it probably didn't end well.
Wingman Rating: 4/10

Thor - Considering any time an Asgardian goes out they get absolutely hammered, Thor would probably do the same. Can you imagine trying to talk up a girl whilst your buddy in the background is drinking the bar dry and performing tricks with his "magic hammer" and breaking windows whilst shooting shot glasses off the pool table with lightning. That being said, he'd probably break the ice with anyone.
Wingman Rating: 7/10

Hulk/Banner - My first reaction is to not let either of these guys into a bar. If he isn't the Hulk going in, he's gonna get sloshed whilst inside and "Unleash the beast". Going anywhere with the Hulk is a BAD idea, so you don't even want to consider him
Wingman Rating: 2/10

Quicksilver - Well he's kinda dead...
Wingman Rating: N/A

Spider-Man - If he's not old enough to be in a bar, he's not a good wingman
Wingman Rating: Also N/A

Ant Man - Scott is likeable, funny and a down to earth guy. There is a big problem though with the fact nobody knows who he is. He would be great for anybody except for Cap, who is way too big a deal for him
Wingman Rating: 4/10

Vision - Okay, so he probably has a billion cool facts to tell girls to interest them, but he's also a robot! His only emotions are towards Wanda and he could barely cook, let alone flirt! He's better off charging your phone than chatting up girls
Wingman Rating: 2/10

Bucky - Considering we are talking about Cap, the WORST IDEA is letting those two pair up. The amount of sexual chemistry they have would turn girls away. They are literally a gay couple and don't even realise it. However, if they could contain themselves long enough to focus on women, they could probably get a lot of girls (Although the giant metal arm is kinda off-putting)
Wingman Rating: 6/10

Falcon - Sam Wilson is a great guy and literally worships the ground Steve walks on. He could make him look appealing to a Nazi believer he's that good a salesman. However, it's pretty clear this ability would be wasted because he would spend the entire evening making puns about him being Steve's "Wing Man"
Wingman Rating: 7/10

Hawkeye - I honestly think Hawkeye is the best fit for a wingman. He's a longtime Avenger and is a big enough deal he's well known, but won't overshadow Steve. He's also married, so he won't be trying to steal your girl and with his accuracy, he would be a pro at beer pong.
Wingman Rating: 9/10

So that's my list and if you don't agree, let me know! I'll argue my case till the end.

The Avengers Worst Fears

What is the one thing the avengers fear the most?

When re-watching Age of Ultron, I took extra attention into the scenes with Scarlet Witch (FYI that is not because I am crazy attracted to her) and when she shows some of the avengers their greatest fears, some weren't entirely explained. I thought I'd take this opportunity to list what these avengers actually felt, along with the other major heroes:

Tony Stark/Iron Man - This was pretty self explanatory. Stark witnessed all of the other Avengers lying dead in front of him. The vision makes him feel like it was his fault for not doing enough to protect them, which pretty much leads to the creation of Ultron. Also, when you think about how he says all the people he cares about the most were there, it's nice to see Pepper wasn't there so i'm guessing they've been having troubles for a while now!

Thor - Thor saw Valhalla. Pretty simple. In Norse mythology when a warrior dies, they live on in Valhalla, so Thor seeing everyone he knew there kinda tells you Thor fears the death of all his friends. Heimdall (Thor's buddy who see's everything) told Thor it was his fault they were all there. Now, I can't be the only one that thinks this sounds similar to Stark's? Its interesting that two very different people both fear the same thing.

Steve Rogers/Captain America - Steve's vision was different to most. Where others saw loss of friends, Steve saw Peggy and other people from his time. This suggests many things, but what I think is that it's Steve fears the life he lost. It's weird to think like this, but after everything he went through, it probably would scare him that he was so tortured just to return.

Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow - Romanoff is such a strong person that she probably doesn't fear most, but it isn't surprising that her greatest fear is repeating the red room experience. One thing that was made prominent was the "graduation ceremony" in which she is made infertile. This is clearly what hurt Widow the most, knowing she can't have children or a normal life. The memory was just a reminder.

Bruce Banner - This one is pretty obvious to most people. There is only one thing Banner truly fears and that's himself. It's likely that he would have been shown visions of the damage Hulk has caused because of what that has made him feel before and how it will always make him feel.

Hulk - I put the Hulk separate from Banner because they are two different beings and I don't think the Hulk fears anything. Hulk knows he is the strongest one there is and is always ready to be the first person to attack without a sign of any fear.

Clint Barton/Hawkeye - Considering he was the only Avenger to not have his mind altered by Wanda, we don't know exactly what he would've feared. Judging the kind of person he is though, I'm guessing he would also fear failure, especially if he failed his family. Clint would've probably seen similar to Stark or Thor and pictured the death of his wife and kids

Vision - Obviously, Vision is a robot. I am aware robots don't have feelings but this one sure does (especially for Wanda). He would probably strive for success as well and fear failure like most of them. Although i'm guessing be made of wires would make this a little different...

Wanda - Finally, I wanted to mention Wanda. I think it would be hard to show Wanda her greatest fear considering she's already experienced everything that could scare her:

  • She lost her parents as a child
  • She sat for three days waiting to be blown up
  • She was inhumanely tortured through experiments
  • Encouraged a murderbot
  • Had to fight literal killing machines
  • Her brother died
  • Her home city was destroyed, along with other people she knew
  • A bomb she was trying to throw away blew up half a building
  • She was then imprisoned by her "friend"
That's only after two films!! The chances of her having a great fear anymore is pretty slim!

I will come back to this list for other heroes but what do you think? Post in the comments and let me know!

(BTW I intentionally left out Quicksilver because he kinda died so he doesn't fear anything anymore)
(...Too soon?)

Excelsior!

Fantastic. Amazing. Mighty. Extraordinary.

To a large percentage of the world, they are just four examples of everyday adjectives. To a Marvel fan, they are so much more. These words are the gates that lead into the great spectacle of some of the greatest comics known to man.

Fantastic Refers to the family of four who became the starting point for Marvel's greatest era.

Amazing To describe the much loved and world renowned teenage superhero sensation who went on to inspire children for more than fifty years

Mighty Is the one word that can do justice to describe the great thunder God. The combination of Norse mythology and living legends of the comic world

Extraordinary. A word which sums up not only marvel's greatest group of mutants, but a word to describe the entirety of Marvel itself.

The power of these words defined generation after generation, from the traditional comic readers to avid movie goers. Now, Marvel as a brand has never been so popular.
Yet so many people still lack knowledge of heroes or their actions.

How can you say the fantastic four are the best if you don't know the real Doctor Doom?
How can you be Spider-mans biggest fan if you don't know what happened to his parents?
How can you love Thor and not know Donald Blake?
How can you know every X-Man if you've never heard of Doop?

These are the questions this blog wants to help answer. There will be comics, films, tv, anything you readers want. Any questions, leave a comment, write an email, get in touch.

I know all this stuff. You guys don't. If you want to, just ask.
